Help MAHA Advocate For Affordable Homeownership
The Massachusetts Affordable Housing Alliance (MAHA) was founded twenty five years ago to address the dual problems of rising housing costs and discriminatory lending practices. We’ve partnered with banks, insurers, lenders and government as we strive to create a standard of fair practice and equal opportunity for everyone. Join MAHA’s Online Homeownership Action Network.

Since 1989, we’ve created, negotiated, and expanded the most affordable mortgage program in the state, formerly known as the SoftSecond program, now updated and renamed the ONE Mortgage Program. More than 18,000 Massachusetts families and single adults have used the program to buy their first homes. Each household is saving hundreds of dollars per month on their mortgage payments. Preserving this program remains a focus of our work.
Our members and staff work daily to further and protect gains in affordable housing development and community investment. We bring people together, both in person and online, to advocate for affordable homeownership opportunities and fair and affordable mortgages.
