MAHA’s Homeownership University
Knowledge is power. Nowhere is this truer than when buying a home – through a lottery or by any other means. It’s important to arm yourself with the basics of buying a home, owning and maintaining a home, and growing your money.
Buying a Home
MAHA’s award-winning classes include presentations by professional instructors, and by those who have spent their careers understanding the home buying process - homebuyer counselors, realtors, bank loan officers, attorneys, home inspectors, insurance agents and financial planners. We will explain each step of the process ¡V from getting ready all the way through choosing a home, negotiating a purchase and sale agreement, and obtaining an affordable mortgage. Owning a Home
Our ground breaking homeowner and condo owner classes will help you maintain your home and protect your investment. We will provide you with the nuts and bolts of budgeting, planning, record keeping, working with contractors, home repair programs, and taxes. Condo owners will learn about their rights and responsibilities as well as sound condo association management. A special section for two and three family owners focuses on landlord/tenant issues.
Since our first class in 1991, over 18,000 people have taken advantage of MAHA's homeownership education programs. That makes us the state's foremost nonprofit voice for low- and moderate-income homebuyers and homeowners. All of which means you can trust us to help make your dreams of homeownership a reality.
